The Manchaca Garage Team
Pictured on the right is the owner of Manchaca Garage, Sawyer Ballister. Originally from the mountains of California, Sawyer began his career as an automotive technician at a shop specializing in Asian and domestic vehicles, with a strong focus on Subaru. It was there that he developed the technical skills and in-depth understanding of automotive repair that continue to shape his work today.
In 2016, Sawyer moved to South Austin and began working alongside Martin Gorchs, the founder and late owner of Manchaca Garage. With more than 30 years of experience specializing in Asian and domestic vehicles, Martin became an important mentor to Sawyer, passing down his knowledge, expertise, and commitment to quality repairs.
Today, Sawyer carries that knowledge and tradition forward at Manchaca Garage, continuing the high standard of service and workmanship that the shop was built on.
On the left is Sawyer’s right-hand man, Parker. Parker developed his passion for automotive repair from an early age, spending years working on a wide variety of vehicles and gaining hands-on experience along the way.
For more than three years, Parker has worked alongside Sawyer, continuing to expand his knowledge and skills in automotive repair. His dedication to learning and his hands-on experience make him a valuable part of the Manchaca Garage team.
The Shop Dogs
On any given day, you’re bound to find at least one of our furry shop companions hanging around the garage. They take their job seriously—keeping an eye on the work, making sure everything gets done right, and, of course, reminding us when it’s time for some pets. They may get in the way every now and then, but we wouldn’t have it any other way!
